Boro were at the races for a time, but after missing the pen, the substitute, Michael Chopra scored a brace. This is striking, because he was not only a sub, but this was the first match back after a three match suspension and some time in Rehab. Whatever that all did for him, it was genius. Hope his desire and focus do not wane, free of his off-pitch issues. Malbranque once again is proving to be the best purchase thus far. Superior quality in midfield. McCartney and Tainio picked up knocks for the League Cup match, but little fear Sunderland won't have adaquate cover as in years goneby. Though, versus Northampton there's not much to worry about.
On another pitch...SCCYSA U6 Team #302 (The Panthers) are now 3-0, with a GD of +19. Extraordinary.
