Saturday before Christmastide

Questions of the day:  Will Sunderland do something interesting when visiting Hull today?  Against a back drop of missing out on the services of Sam Allardyce.  I mean, really.   I wasn't excited about Big Sam, but at least all that dour football and shady dealing would insure survival.  Are we enamored with life in the Championship?  Also, why does Oasis production always seem so dense and claustrophobic, like Noel keeps slapping the engineer's hand away from the treble control, um, or, like, there's a blanket over the songs?  Doesn't anthemic pop deserve to be expansive and sonically clean?  Bonus question -- why does every Oasis song go on a minute or two too long?  Oh, wait, wrong blog for those.  Okay, back to football.  Arsenal welcome Roma to the Emirates in the next round of Champions League shenanigans.  I see a result.  Perhaps a run in Europe will help them be more of a threat in the Premiership.  Then again, maybe not.
