The Arsenal

Most were genuinely excited by the prospect of Higuain coming in, especially for the Champion's League campaign ahead.  I instantly felt like he was a perfect match with the class, technique and disposition for an Arsenal shirt.   There are goals in him at the highest level and easily worth 30 million quid.  Don't think there's many who would have grumbled if they paid 33 or 34 for him.  A proven, elegant striker.

But I was really disheartened when that Bayern Munich midfielder got away and went to Wolfsburg.  Felt like he would have really offered protection for Mertesacker and Kocielny.  I kind of felt a certain Martin Keown current running out of that, but then, Arsenal lost him to a mediocre Bundesliga side not even in the Champion's League?

Those two would have been supremely comforting business for the Gunners.  Now what faces the supporters?   The prospect of getting excited by the purchase of Michu?   Crikey.
