The Final: Spain - Germany

Awesome match. Fantastico! Torres' goal was a thing of stunning beauty in its speed and technique. Just reward for the lad who worked hard during the tournament only to see his strike partner David Villa get the goals (not that there's anything wrong with David Villa geting goals). Spain did it in style, not losing or drawing a single match and not allowing a goal in the knock out stage. Iker Casillas has now taken over (from Buffon) the mantle of best Goal Keep in the world. The midfield work during the Final was exceptional. Senna was superb. But really, the lion's share of credit in my book should go to Puyol and Marchena in the middle of that defense. They handled the scary German set piece threat all night. And how exceptional is Iniesta? Anyone? Anyone?

WOW. Finally. We have witnessed potential meeting performance. We here at GK don't see any reason why this side won't be heavily favored to win the next World Cup. Youth, patience, creativity and lightning pace are all remarkable.

Oh crap, now we have to wait around for the club friendlies to start.
